In-house Consulting Development Programme
Whenever consultants contribute their expertise to the solution of a situation, employees of an organisation or team, or even the organisation itself, are forced to give up something they or it was accustomed to in favor of the necessary new thing. The different effects of technical and process consulting are visible in this scenario. As the thoughts and actions of the organisation come to a standstill due to non-acceptance by employees, today’s technical consulting agents look for solutions.
Therefore the essence of successful technical consulting has meant that adoption of an understanding of the organisation as a trivial machine that requires the “correct” application of techniques. Increasingly, expert consultants are enhancing their process models and their portfolio of methods around concepts and the professional stance of process-oriented consulting.
As the background slide behind the In-house Consulting Development Programme, we work with the understanding of consulting as a dual process in which both perspectives are needed: a view toward quality, performance, results and goal achievement; and to the same extent, attention toward and an understanding for the irrational, emotional processes and social dynamics that are borne from desire and feeling.
THIS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM DISCUSSES THEREFORE THE FOLLOWING CENTRAL QUESTIONS:
- What do I do? What do I not do? Where are my strengths?
- What are coherent concepts, methods and tools for me?
- What effect does my consulting personality have?
- How do I increase my effectiveness?
- Which of my personal attitudes and competencies, in addition to technical expertise, bring credibility and create trust?
In the one-year learning process, the participants develop a comprehensive understanding of roles and functions as a consultant in the context of their organization. In addition to dealing with one’s presence competency and professional stance, there is a deepening of one’s “felt problem-solving competence”. Through various case studies, participants also learn about the effect of different diagnostic and intervention methods that include the design of processes for determining requirements and solutions.
The understanding of learning processes serves as the basis for the architecture of consultation processes in the context of change and development, and it is an integral part of the personal development process of the participants .
