Procurement and Supply Chain
The efficient and effective procurement of goods and services is a critically important competency of companies. This is particularly the case in an industrial environment where operation a cost competitive and reliable supply chain can constitute a competitive advantage or create a severe disadvantage. Procurement & Supply Chain are important for industrial firms as the function supports two critical areas:
(i) efficient operation of existing assets and
(ii) effective capital project expenditure.
Overall, this training will focus on core concepts, trends and opportunities to enhance a firm’s procurement and supply chain performance. To this end, we work through all primary aspects of procurement & supply chain including organizational design, functional scope, make versus buy decisions, core competency assessments, procurement and budgeting, tender process, commercial strategies for operational and capital expenditure procurement, procurement risk management, supplier relationship management, market intelligence gathering and use as well as future trends for the function.
This training will clarify the key considerations that companies must evaluate when looking to optimize their existing procurement & supply chain and will offer attendees a number of considerations that can be applied to their company’s procurement optimization plans.

Our Approach
This training will apply a mixture of broad concept familiarization together with detailed analysis of cases that demonstrate the complexity of the function. Case analysis, on issues such capital project contracting strategy development, make versus buy decisions and organizational models, will be a collaborative activity between the trainer and the attendees. The training approach will at all times work to develop attendees understanding by demonstrating the interconnectivity of the function and its impact on the business.
